MeetMe was created in response to shifts in dating culture over the past two decades, which have seen a surge in online dating but a decline in face-to-face connections. This shift has led to a rise in "situationships" and a widespread yearning for meaningful in-person interactions. Recognizing this desire, MeetMe introduces a platform that combines digital convenience with the spontaneity of real-life encounters.

Traditional online dating platforms often result in impersonal and time-consuming interactions, leaving many users unsatisfied. The challenge was to develop a solution that promotes genuine connections without wasting users' time on superficial interactions or risking ghosting and disappointment. The objective was to design a tool that allows people to meet compatible individuals in a more direct, authentic way.

MeetMe’s solution is a hybrid experience, integrating a personality-based matchmaking app with a wearable device—a bracelet that signals when a compatible user is nearby. This approach allows users to initiate in-person conversations organically, bypassing the digital-only interactions of traditional platforms. This bracelet system enables people to instantly recognize compatibility, streamlining the dating process and fostering deeper, more immediate connections. MeetMe successfully bridges the digital and physical dating worlds, providing a modern yet authentic solution to online dating limitations.
